Research and Evaluation Coordinator

• Advance the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for measuring the impact of multiple MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad programs and initiatives

• Execute evaluation strategies using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies and translating insights into actions

Contract Lecturer

• Classes: Reporting Sports/Sports Journalism, Building the Brand

• Teach an introductory course about working the sports beat in journalism, helping students develop sources and story ideas while understanding a reporter’s independence from the pressures of commercial sport and home team cheerleading

• Teach an upper-year course to help students learn to take control of their careers by creating unique personal brands and developing effective audience-building strategies with the launch of a professional-level, personally branded website

Contract Lecturer

• Class: Sports Broadcasting

• Teach an introductory course about working the sports beat in journalism with a focus on helping students create sports content for the broadcast genre, including producing and performing a sportscast

Research Assistant

• Identify areas for integrating communication practices for inclusivity, accessibility, equity, and anti-oppression into three courses within the School of Professional Communication

• Build on the ways these communication practices are already addressed in the courses and provide additional materials and related learning activities to be integrated into the courses for long-term improvement

Graduate Teaching Assistant

• Classes include: Designing Journalism, Visualizing Facts, and Boosting Media Techniques

• Mark weekly assignments, lead diverse discussions at lab, hold one-on-one extra help sessions to support students, and provide detailed feedback on all class assignments while creating a safe and respectful learning environment

• Encourage students to use critical thinking when analyzing and visualizing public data, composing videos and audio stories, and help them improve their journalistic writing and news judgement skills

Elementary Teaching Assistant (Volunteer)

• Support the teacher and elementary school students; led the newspaper writing unit, marked assignments, and helped create a Google website to assist with the transition to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic

• Created instructional warm-up plans to teach health, fitness, and sports-specific skills in physical education

Tutor

• Worked as a one-on-one tutor with students between JK-Gr. 10 for the subjects of math, science, English, and history while creating a positive environment that fostered a love for learning

Recreational Program Instructor

• Created and implemented 9-week program plans for arts, sports, and science programs for children between 6 months - 12 years of age

• Applied NCCP coaching principles and principles of healthy child development (HIGH FIVE) to ensure a fun, inclusive, and safe program
